A source for nitrogen fertilizer, this $1.8 billion plant in Wever, Iowa, is the largest greenfield site in the state of Iowa and one of the top five nitrogen-based fertilizer plants in the world at the time of project completion. The production plant is also the first world scale natural gas-based fertilizer plant built in the U.S. in nearly 30 years.

The plant has a nameplate capacity of 2,200 metric tons per day (mtpd) of seabet myammonia; 2,200 mtpd of urea synthesis; 1,200 mtpd of granular urea; 4,300 mtpd of urea ammonium nitrate; and 900 mtpd of diesel exhaust fluid, with a combined sellable capacity of 1.5 to 2 million metric tons per annum of products.

Producing both liquid and ammonia fertilizer, Iowa Fertilizer Project has a production capability of seven million tons and will distribute the product across the five major continents.
